Ingredients
1lbstew beef1/2 kilo
2medium size onionsliced
1tomatochopped
2green chillisliced
2tbspgingerchopped
4-5garlic cloveschopped
2sprigs of curry leaves
2cardamomcrushed
1cinnamon stick
2tspfennel seed
1/2tspturmeric powder
2tspcayenne pepper powder
1tspvinegar
1/4tspmustard seed
3tbspolive oil
4mint leaves
Salt to taste
Instructions
Cut the beef into small pieces. Wash 2 to 3 times and drain.
Add the drained beef into the pressure cooker.
Then add 1.5 of sliced onion, tomato, 1 sprig of curry leaves, green chilli, ginger, garlic, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, 1 tsp fennel seed, turmeric powder, cayenne pepper, vinegar, mint leaves and salt into it.
Mix well with a wooden spoon. Marinate for 15 minutes.
Now pressure cook for 20-25 minutes or until the beef is well cooked, approximately 3-4 whistles, on medium heat.
Switch off the flame and let sit until the pressure drops. Now open and check whether done. If not, cook again for 5-10 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan.pop the remaining fennel seeds and then the mustard seeds.
Saute the remaining onion until gplden brown. Then add the remaining curry leaves.
Now add the cooked beef along with the stock into the pan.
Stir and mix well. Cook on medium heat with occasional stirring until all the water content is evaporated.
