Fragrant rice pilaf is an easy preparation for any special occasion. You can serve it for your vegetarian and non-vegetarian friends with their favorite sides.

Ingredients
  • 3 cup basmati rice cooked
  • 1/2 of a small onion thinly sliced
  • 1.5 tbsp ghee clarified butter
  • 2 cardamom crushed
  • 1 tsp fennel seed
  • 1 cinnamon stick 1-inch
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick or ceramic pan.
  2. Add the spices (cloves, cardamom, fennel seed, cinnamon) into the hot ghee.
  3. Stir well until you feel a spicy aroma.
  4. Now the sliced onion and salt. Mix well and saute until it starts to brown.
  5. Add the rice and black pepper. Mix gently.
  6. Let it cook on medium-low heat for 2 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat.
  8. Serve hot.
